ABOUT US
EDAs and CAs grow a political party’s membership base, raise funds, identify and nominate candidates to run for the party, and that’s what's happening right here in Ajax.
Ajax Greens are a group of like-minded people of all ages, sizes, races, genders and backgrounds who are coming together to improve the system. The status quo is not sustainable, or desirable. It's time for change and the Ajax Green Party members are working together to establish the 'new normal' when it comes to taking care of our planet, and each other.
MEET THE EDA BOARD
Diarmuid O'Connor - Chair
Originally from Ireland, Diarmuid and his wife Valerie have lived in Ajax for over 30 years. They have 3 sons and a granddaughter. Diarmuid has coached youth soccer in Ajax for over 20 years and for the last 32 years has been a teacher at Centennial College in Scarborough.

Kim Macpherson - Financial Agent
Kim and her family have lived in Ajax since 2004. Kim has worked in the pension and benefits field for over 25 years and served on several jointly trusteed pension boards and committees. She is a Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (Dalhousie University), and Chartered Director (McMaster University’s DeGroot School of Business) and currently the CEO of the Toronto Electrical Industry Benefit Administration Services Ltd.
Leigh Paulseth - Volunteer Chair
Having grown up in Scarborough, Leigh loves exploring the Rouge. With a background in conservation biology, she now works in science communication, outreach programming and volunteer management. Leigh moved to Ajax just before the pandemic with her husband, Aidan. Together with their dog, they love to explore Ajax's beautiful neighbourhoods and natural areas alike.
Omar Ahmed
Omar and his wife Iffat have been residents of Ajax for the past 13 years and have a lively 6-year-old boy. They are active volunteers in the growing Bengali and Muslim community in Durham Region and thoroughly enjoy all the beautiful natural spaces in Ajax.
Susie Healy
Susie has been a resident of Ajax for the past 30 years and with her husband Glenn, they have 3 daughters. While raising their children, Susie spent her ‘spare’ time volunteering on school councils, parent committees, boards and other opportunities.
